About Us
Founded by doctors, dentists, and healthcare professionals, the Health Come True Foundation (HCTF) is committed to ensuring all children, regardless of economic status, have access to healthcare. Established as a student initiative at Yale University Medical School, HCTF has been addressing healthcare needs in underserved communities of the Dominican Republic since 2019 through their annual free health clinics.
HCTF clinics span across four days, beginning with a volunteer training seminar, followed by two days of the health and dental clinic, and concluding with a reflection and debriefing session.
We believe every child has the right to free medical, dental, and mental healthcare, as well as access to essential medications. By also offering education on disease prevention, we empower these children to become advocates of change in their communities.
The next HCTF Health Clinic is scheduled for November 14-18, 2024, in Gualey, Pizzarette in the Dominican Republic.

The last HCTF clinic, held in 2023, was our most successful yet. We treated over 400 pediatric patients with 142 volunteers from Yale University, Harvard University, Emory University, University of Texas, Intec (Domincan Republic), University of Puerto Rico, and Universidad Central del Caribe. We are beyond excited for 2024 as we welcome new educational partnerships, corporate sponsors, and more volunteers from new universities.
